This week Ari sits down with Joe Neary and Jordan Burmeister of the band DOUBLECAMP. This indie-pop duo from Nashville is a working DIY band—they write, produce, and record most of their own music and release it through DistroKid. With over 70 million streams on Spotify alone, they have experienced notable success while remaining independent. DOUBLECAMP released their debut album, A Second To Myself, last December followed by a headlining tour of 300-cap rooms across the US. They have shared the stage with artists like Quinn XCII, COIN, Del Water Gap, Fiji, Blue, Bryce Vine, Peach Tree Rascals, Almost Monday at festivals and on larger supporting tours. 

In this episode, Joe and Jordan tell Ari how they’ve built their careers from the ground up and how they continue to make it work as indie artists. They go into detail about their fan communities and how they work with “superfans” on their various online platforms. They also share the details of their recent publishing deal and an innovative new label services deal they signed through DistroKid. Joe and Jordan give Ari a sneak peek into their creative process and share how they’ve been using social media to nurture and develop their fan base.
