As the long road to recovery begins for our Los Angeles community after the wildfires upended our city, many organizations are doing their part to support the musicians and other music industry professionals who have lost their homes.
This is a living resource and we will update it as more organizations announce initiatives.

The Recording Academy’s nonprofit arm, MusiCares is providing short-term, disaster relief including $1,500 in financial assistance and a $500 grocery card to music professionals affected. MusiCares disaster relief is intended to cover short-term costs, should you incur costs from evacuating (hotel, food, supplies). MusiCares is also able to provide additional support for individuals with considerable impact, including medical issues, damaged music equipment or longer-term relocation needs.
Individuals are eligible for MusiCares disaster relief support after 3 years employment in music in any capacity or credit on 6 commercially-released recordings. If you would like to request support from MusiCares, please reach out to musicaresrelief@musicares.org or call 800-687-4227.
The SONA Foundation is offering immediate $500 grants to songwriters affected by the Palisades, Eaton and other January 2025 fires. Affected songwriters can apply here.
If you are a musician who has lost an instrument due to the fires, Fender has offered to replenish you.

The Guitar Center Music Foundation is offering a one-time grant to musicians who have lost instruments in the fires. You can apply here through February 28th.
ASCAP has dedicated $1 million in emergency relief to its writer members who have suffered loss or damage to their primary residence or studio or have been evacuated from their homes. ASCAP is offering a one-time stipend of $1,500 to writer members. You can apply here.
Any music industry professional can get connected with a trusted mental health and wellness provider by meeting with a case manager. Case managers can provide customized plans within your budget (or cover the costs if need be). You can request to speak with a case manager here. In addition, Backline has partnered with Sweet Relief to offer one-time $500 grants to cover the costs of your therapy. You can apply for that grant here.

For producers, engineers and creators affected, We Are Moving the Needle is offering grants on a sliding scale between $100 and $1,000 based on need. You can apply here.
The Entertainment Community Fund is offering immediate financial assistance to performing artist and entertainment professionals who are unable to pay their immediate basic living expenses such as housing, food, utility bills or health care. Eligibility requires earning at least $10K/year for 3 of the past 6 years. You can learn more and apply here.
Sweet Relief is providing immediate financial assistance to affected music industry professionals by the fires who have worked in the music industry for at least 3 years with at least 50% of their income coming from music. You can apply here.
The NAMM Foundation has committed $50,000 to NAMM members, employees of NAMM member companies, music education programs, and affected music makers. No information is currently available as to how to apply for these funds just yet.
Sound Royalties is offering a no-cost, no-fee royalty advance of up to $50,000 to qualified applicants affected by the fires. Eligible applicants must be earning at least $5,000 annually in royalties. You can apply through March 31, 2025 here.
The California Jazz Foundation is offering an immediate $1,000 grant to affected California jazz musicians through March 1st. Email your name, email address, phone, former/current address, zip code of your affected area, instrument and specification for request (lost home, evacuated, lost gig/instruments, etc.) We will require validation that you are a California jazz musician: Help@CaliforniaJazzFoundation.org
